AN
UPDATE FOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATIONS
Happy
Monday! Every second Monday we will send out an Association
Newsletter that contains key information Hockey New Zealand needs
to communicate with you and your members.
This is
one of Hockey New Zealand’s main tools which we will be using to
communicate important messaging to Associations for their
information and action. If we have missed any of your staff from
this email then please let us know and we will make sure they are
added to our database.

How do I avoid catching the Coronavirus? Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathrooms, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol- based hand sanitiser with at least 60% alcohol. (HPSNZ utilises ‘Zoono’) Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. What are the symptoms of Coronavirus? Symptoms of Coronavirus most frequently include fever, cough, shortness of breath and sore throat, but vomiting and diarrhoea may also be present (see https://www.healthy.org.nz/ for further symptom details). What do I do if I think I may have Coronavirus? If you have symptoms and may have been in contact with someone with Coronavirus, you should phone Healthline’s dedicated Covid-19 number 0800 358 5453 (+64 9 358 5453 from overseas) or contact your GP by phone. Some practical considerations for your community No handshakes after matches No sharing of drink bottles MOH ADVICE WHO ADVICE MOH POSTER FOR CLUBROOMS KUWTP Assets and Regional Forums The Keep up with the Play campaign is well underway now with the first forum held in BOP over the weekend and the next due in Waikato this week. It is important that we look to get key hockey leaders to attend (clubs, schools etc) and be part of the process as we move forward with changes within our system. The aim of the Keep up with the play campaign is to raise awareness of the issues and concerns around how young people are experiencing sport and work with those able to create positive environments that nurture all young people – from those who just want to play to those who aspire to be the very best. To assist Hockey New Zealand and Sport NZ we have put together a folder of digital assets that you can share on your websites and social media channels to help drive this conversation so that your community can understand this important shift in New Zealand sport. Please also share the stories and messages that you have around your community with us that will highlight the key aspects of the campaign.
