As part of your tournament experience HNZ is partnering with its associations to provide a coach development and networking opportunity.

This will be an interactive evening to allow you to work with your peers and grow your coaching knowledge. The focus will be on how we, as coaches, can create a positive experience for our players. There will be some great discussion regarding the needs of young people and how we can ensure the future of hockey continues to be bright.

6.30-8pm, Thursday 11^th October

Netball Pavilion at Sport Tasman (Over the road from the field!)

142 Saxton Rd East, Stoke

No cost to attend and food will be provided

The session will be facilitated by Coach Developers, Shaun Mathews and Tamara Dudley.

We strongly encourage all coaches to attend this evening.

ALLY AND ZACH’S CAFE

Ally and Zach’s Cafe will be open throughout the U13 Boys Hatch Cup Tournament as games are playing.

For teams, they are offering the following food options during the week:

BREAKFAST–

Continental breakfast   $5 per head

Choice of cereals, fruit, toast and spreads. Milo or Hot Chocolate

Cooked Breakfast   $8 per head 

Sausages, Bacon, egg and hash browns. Milo or Hot Chocolate

LUNCH PACKS- $7  Filled Roll, Piece of cake/slice and a piece of fruit.

You can book any of these meal selections on a one off, a regular, or everyday basis.

CMG Sport Action Images will have a photo team in Nelson taking their high quality images capturing all the action on and off the turf as well as all your formal or casual team photos.

They will have 5 screens for you to view and order photos, and they’ll have lots of great giveaways and daily spot prizes too.

If you require a practice on Sunday 7th October you will need to book now.

Please let the office know via email to rdm@nelsonhockey.org.nz what time you would like.

Practices can be booked from 9.30am-7pm and will be 1 hour by ½ turf; price is $70.00 including GST per hour.

Your booking needs to be done by Monday 1st October.

This fee is additional to your tournament turf fees and will be invoiced to your Association prior to Tournament.

TOURNAMENT APPAREL UPDATE

The clothing orders are on their way to NZ and should arrive Friday (5 OCT) this week, so we expect them to arrive on Monday or Tuesday next week during Hatch Cup.

There will be limited supplies of the tournament apparel available for purchase during the week too.

OPENING CEREMONY –

Will commence promptly at 4:15pm on Sunday 7th October on Nelson Turf 1. Teams/Umpires are to be lined up on Nelson Turf 2 no later than 4.00pm for the Parade of Associations. Teams will then complete one lap of the main Nelson Turf 1 before being seated for the opening speech. The ribbon exchange will take place at the conclusion of the opening speech.

NOTE: Banner size can be max. 1.0m H x 3.0m L

PRIZE GIVING – On completion of the final game.
