U15 BOYS heading down to Christchurch.
NHA would like to send U15 BOYS Team our best wishes.
Go Nelson!

Quick match summaries from the past two games at the Under 15 Boys tournament in Christchurch.

Monday Game 1 – vs Wellington

First game and the boys started well, competing evenly with Wellington. Wellington put away two quick goals, but the boys held their composure to bring the score back to two, three, with goals to Jacob and Maclaren. We had a chance to draw level with a break away by Maclaren, going one on one with the Wellington keeper, though the keeper kept his composure blocking the shot. Both teams fought hard in the last quarter of the game, with Nelson taking the keeper off to try and push for a draw or win. The defenders kept strong to deny any attempt from Wellington, but while the extra player gave more opportunities to probe the Wellington Goal, the score remained two, three to Wellington at the final whistle.

Tuesday Game 2 – vs Bay of Plenty

Bay of Plenty struck quickly and kept the boys on their toes for most of the game. The boys fought well, but lacked the spark and drive of the previous days game, eventually going down five, nil to Bay of Plenty. It wasn’t for a lack of trying, with passionate defence leading to a green card awarded one of our defenders. The boys were able to create opportunities and the spread the ball, but we were unable to break through, connect and convert. Overall, the boys held strong, but Bay of Plenty were able to slowly tick up the score through to the final whistle.
