2021 TSSS TOURNAMENT August 3rd & 4th Nelson Hockey Association Event Information

Hockey Tournament 2021
EVENT INFORMATION
Formats: Tier One – 11 a side as previous years, will be dependent on team number of entries. Grades
may be mixed. This will be played across both days of the tournament; everyone plays
everyone once.
Tier Two – new for 2021 – 6 a side with goalkeeper played on a half turf. See following page
for more details.
Date: Tier One – 3rd & 4th August 2021.
Tier Two – 5th August.
Time: Tier One – 9:00am – 4:00pm.
Tier Two – 10:00am – 3:00pm.
Venues: Nelson Hockey turfs – Saxton Field .
Entry: Tier One – $150 per team – schools will be invoiced by Nelson Hockey.
Entries close Friday 9th July 2021.
Tier Two – $75 per team – schools will be invoiced by Nelson Hockey.
Entries close Friday 9th July 2021.
Uniform: Teams must wear their school hockey strip.
Umpires: All schools will be required to provide a nominated umpire (both tiers) and must be listed on
entry form (should a team be unable to supply an umpire the team will be charged $30 per
game the team plays, this will be used to cover the cost of outside umpires).
Draw: Draw will be emailed to all schools once entries close.
Rules: Tier One – games will be played in accordance with Hockey NZ tournament rules.
Tier Two – details on following page.
Game length: Tier One – games will be two 30-minute halves as per NZ secondary school Rules.
Tier Two – 25-minute games.
First Aid: All schools MUST bring own First Aid kits and warm up balls. All injuries requiring more than
basic first aid will be referred to A&E.

2021 TSSSC Division Six rules.
The focus for this tier is participation and the introducing potential new players to the game.

Below are the
basic rules for the tier two grade.
Six field players + GK.
Half turf.
25 minutes games.
No lifted shots, nothing higher than goal backboard.
GK minimum requirement is lower leg + kickers.
Penalty:
Taken from five meters behind blue dash line at the top point of the line.
Defending GK + two defenders only in circle. Others are outside circle, behind halfway line.
No Tier One registered players to play in Tier Two teams
