2022 GOLDEN OLDIES Information
| The planning continues for 2022 The teams already entered are making their plans to squeeze every drop of fun they can out of a week of Golden Oldies Hockey. Some of the accommodation is starting to fill up so please register and let us know your requirements as soon as you can to make sure you secure your package of choice. I have a suggestion for local teams – make this a ‘staycation’. At least half the fun of a Golden Oldies Hockey get together is the aftermatch and evening socialising. So get right in amongst it by booking in for the week at one of our Festival accommodation venues. A couple of the local teams in Vancouver did this and they had a ball! Bruce is an events professional who has created world-class events all around the globe. “I have always been a fan of the Golden Oldies phenomenon and am very excited to deliver the Golden Oldies Hockey Festival in Melbourne for seven days of recreational sport and fun. Diverse destinations with lots to offer are an integral part of the Golden Oldies Festival experience, and we just know people are going to love everything Melbourne and Victoria has to offer.” Bruce has committed to ensuring the delivery of the event within stipulated strict health and safety guidelines to ensure risks are mitigated. “As the world begins to open, with global vaccination numbers increasing daily, we know the landscape will be very different in 12 months’ time. We will be well prepared to deliver a safe environment which will allow recreational hockey players and their supporters the opportunity to travel once again and enjoy a wonderful festival”. GO Sports and Events Ltd – the company who will be delivering the iconic Golden Oldies Hockey Festival boasts a lot of event delivery experience including Director Ian Francis, alongside owner Bruce Mactaggart. Ian’s entire working career has been in the sporting sector across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, in leadership and influencing roles, working with multiple stakeholders and partners to promote a focus on sport and recreation participation and experience. Francis also brings a range of experiences to the Golden Oldies team. He is excited about the opportunity and resolved to retain the best of the Golden Oldies experiences and build on those with some new innovations for the Golden Oldies Community. |
