09:30am-10:30 am: Celebrating our Hockey Community.
Use SM’s visit to give our Hockey Community some inspiration and recognition. SM to share his Red Lions Story – Talk about Olympic and World Cup success and what it took to achieve that.
· Followed by Q&A.
10:30pm-12:30 pm: Youth Hockey Coaching – Youth Development Framework.
SM to share his coaching philosophy & then move into a session on Youth Hockey Skill Development. Highlighting the skill development focus he would recommend for each stage of a Youths Development.
SM will also share how he builds a training session & a season plan around skill development.
· Followed by Q&A.

02:00pm-03:30 pm : Coach Development & Coaching Frameworks.
SM to present his coaching philosophy, the importance of developing coaches, his recommendations on best practice coaching frameworks and resources.

04:00pm-05:15 pm: Talent Development – Youth Hockey Coaches.
SM to share his thoughts on talent development. SM will share his views on Talent? What is it? How do you select or identify athletes? What are the challenges and fish hooks around talent identification,. How do you shape talent development to suit local delivery?
· How does SM build a campaign Programme? How do you balance daily training v centralized team preparation? What are the key attributes SM looks for in selecting a squad? How do you check cohesion & culture?
05:15 pm-06:30 pm: Multi-Sport Coach Development.
SM to share his Red Lions Story with a focus on his coaching philosophy and how his coaching career has developed. What are the challenges he has overcome? Why he loves Coaching?
· SM to share how can coaches collaborate across sports.
· Followed by Q&A.
Please note, we do not see this visit as an athlete coaching session. Our primary focus is on knowledge sharing and development of the top coaches.
Presenter Bio:
SHANE McLeod.
Shane McLeod (born 4 September 1968) is a New Zealand field hockey coach. At the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics he coached the New Zealand national field hockey team. He has also coached several clubs in Belgium. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he was the head coach of the Belgium men’s national field hockey team that won the silver medal. He was best coach of the year in 2017 and 2018 for his dedication with the Belgian field hockey team. He was the head coach of the Red Lions when they won the world title in 2018, the European Championship in 2019, and the Olympic title in Tokyo 2020. In 2019 he was voted best coach of the year in Belgium.
