Background:

Shane is a Kiwi hailing from Hamilton and a former provincial rep at Waikato and North Harbour. In 1995 he was selected for the Blackstick’s and in 2007 appointed Blackstick’s Mens Coach taking the team to the Beijing and London Olympic Games.

Post London Shane returned to live in Belgium and has since fashioned an amazing record having won the Euro Championships, World Cup, and Olympic Gold at Tokyo. He is Currently on sabbatical in NZ, contracting to Auckland Hockey as well as the Coach for Life Foundation. In this interactive Q and A, his former provincial team mate and friend Manoj Daji draws out some insights from Shane on his early days before opening up the session to questions from the audience.
