MAADI CUP NEWSLETTER, 13 JULY

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TEAM MANAGERS

PLAYER LISTS should be sent to redmoki1@gmail.com as soon as possible.  You can use the form in the “Documents” tab.  Lists should include umpire names, and shirt numbers if possible.  Players of origin, U21 players and Guest players must be indicated.

DRAW is confirmed at left.  Umpire allocations are ‘probably correct but may change’.

UMPIRES – It is up to each association to make sure your umpires know which games they’re doing.  We’re supposed to have 3rd umpires for all Maadi games, so if anyone’s able to do that on any game (maybe a good job for B team players), let the Tourney Controller know.

VENUE – the Westurf Stadium is in Shakespeare St, Greymouth, and will be open at least 30 min before each game.  Changing rooms and toilets at the Recreation Centre are available for use (back door near the turf should be open).

GAME TIME will probably be 4x15min halves (despite the TOS Tourney rules still saying 2×35).

TOURNEY RULES are in the ‘Documents’ tab of this website, along with other relevant documents.

TURF FEES will be invoiced direct to each association.

TOURNAMENT CONTROLLER is Don Neale.  If not on site at Westurf, contact him on 0273606687.  Coast teams may also be able to assist.

PRINTED PROGRAMMES for each team (x18) will be available on arrival at the turf.

FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL GATHERING – will be at the Recreation Hotel (High Street, across from the turf) from 8pm.

MAADI CUP DINNER – the traditional dinner will be held from 7pm on Saturday at ‘Armadillos’, Australasian Hotel (High St), $45 per person.  Managers will need to confirm numbers attending with the Tourney Controller.  All Maadi A players are expected to attend.

COVID – please take sensible precautions and follow government guidelines.  We want everyone to get home happy and healthy.  If you’re unwell, please stay away.

FIRST AID – First aid kits should be carried by each team.  Ice might be available at the turf or the Recreation Centre.  Emergency medical contacts are listed in the programme.
