Changes to the Community Protection Framework Hockey Implications

As of 11:59 pm 4 April 2022, changes to the Community Protection Framework took effect. Principal among these changes is the removal of participant limits on outdoor events. Prior to this, events that did not check or require vaccine passes were limited to 25 participants, and with vaccine passes limit of 100 participants. To ensure the greatest community participation and enable the effective operation of our programmes, Nelson Hockey Association adopted a vaccine pass requirement.
With the removal of limits on events regardless of vaccine passes being required or not, it is no longer necessary to limit access to Nelson Hockey facilities to vaccine pass holders. Going forward Nelson Hockey Association will not require vaccine passes to access the Nelson Hockey facilities or to participate in Nelson Hockey events and programmes, including the 2022 club season.
We encourage our community, players and participants to continue to follow Community Protection Framework and Ministry of Health guidelines. COVID continues to disrupt our community and ensuring we stay healthy is our best chance to have a full and rewarding year. Please remember that if you are unwell, stay at home. If you have symptoms, please follow Ministry of Health guidance.
The board will continue to review our policies and procedures as necessary to adapt to any further changes to the Community Protect Framework or the traffic light setting.
Keep safe.

Chairperson, NHA.
