We are very pleased to inform NHA hockey whanau our Coaching Forum lead by Tasman Districts Sr. Men’s Coach Paul Jones on Saturday April 30th 11:00 -12:00. Below are details and all related information. We are also planning on having more opportunities as the season progresses.
Coach Forum.
Paul Jones has volunteered to lead the initial Coach Forum, details are below.
Date – Saturday 30th April
Time – 1100 to 1200
Venue – hockey turfs
Topics – basic screens and presses, theory and practical
Cost – $0
Also, Ryan Edwards from Sport Tasman will be attending that session in his capacity as our regions Lead Coach Developer for Sport New Zealand. He will be available to talk with any coach that wants to join a Coach Developer program that focuses on the important aspects of how to coach rather than what to coach. The how to coach topics include but aren’t limited to, body positioning, body language, athlete/team questioning techniques, training/activity focus points. He is keen to have coaches join that program and will be available for a discussion post the on turf activities Paul is running.
Hockey NZ has recently updated their online learning portal and is keen to have as many of our coaches utilizing it as possible, see below for the link. Coaches can set up their own account in the portal to trace their progress.
