U21 FUTURE BLACK STICKS TEAMS SET TO COMPETE AT FIH JUNIOR WORLD CUPS
The Future Black Sticks U21 Men’s and Women’s teams are in the final stages of preparation ahead of the FIH Junior World Cups this December. The women’s team will travel to Santiago, Chile for their tournament from 1–13 December and the men’s side will head to Chennai and Madurai, India, with their campaign running from 28 November – 10 December.

In October, both teams gained valuable international experience, the men competing in the Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia, and the women travelling to Japan for matches against the U21 and senior national sides. These tours helped sharpen performance and build cohesion ahead of the final stretch.

Many of the selected players are currently competing in the Premier Hockey League, ensuring they remain match-fit and well prepared with plenty of high-level hockey under their belts.

The Junior World Cups represent a major milestone for New Zealand’s emerging talent, offering the opportunity to compete at the highest level of junior international hockey and proudly represent Aotearoa on the world stage.
