2019 Super League Competition 

WHO:       Our top-level players within the TOS region

WHERE:   3 games in Nelson, 1 game in Westport (TBC), 1 game in Blenheim

WHAT:     5 game Super League Competition during the 2019 hockey season

WHEN:     Games 1 – 7 APR 19, Nelson

Games 2 – 19 MAY 19, Nelson   

                Games 3 – 16 JUN 19, Westport (TBC)

                Games 4 – 7 JUL 19, Blenheim

                Games 5 – 11 AUG 19, Nelson

WHY:       To provide a higher quality hockey competition for our top-level players who may not get this within their Club or Association

HOW:       Players register individually online

Coaches and Umpires register interest online & selected

                Selection Panel create teams based on positions (no Club or Association bias)

                Sponsorship opportunities for individual teams and naming rights for the league

                Own team name choices

FORMAT: Men & Women’s Grades

4 teams in each grade (dependent on registered players)

                17-minute quarter games (no stoppages)

                Shootout if a draw at the end of the game

                Power Play: 1 x 5 min power play per team. Use at any quarter, double points scored

                PC Goal = 1, Field Goal = 2, PS Goal (PC) = 1, PS Goal (Field) = 2

                Points: W = 3, D = 2, L = 0

                Bonus Points: BP1 = Score more than 5 goals, BP2 = loss within 1 goal, BP3 = Penalty Shootout win
