2020 Y3/Y4 and Y5/Y6 TASMAN REGIONAL PRIMARY HOCKEY Festival Tournaments Postponed

Due to the extension of Alert Level 2 announced last night NHA will be postponing both the Y3 and Y4 tournament as well as the Y5 and Y6 tournament to September 2020. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, please understand this decision was made with everyone’s health and safety in mind whilst ensuring we abide the New Zealand government’s gathering guidelines for Alert Level 2.

The new dates of the Y3 and Y4 festival as well as the Y5 and Y6 festival will be as follows;

Y3 and Y4 Hockey Festival – Tuesday the 15^th of September  – POSTPONED DAY: Wednesday the 16^th of September

Y5 and Y6 Hockey Festival-  Tuesday the 22^nd of September – POSTPONED DAY: Wednesday the 23^rd of September

With this change we ask all schools to re-register teams for the new dates. Attached is the new information flyer as well as the new registration form, registrations will close on the 8^th of September.

Hockey Tournament 2020
EVENT INFORMATION
Date: Y3 and Y4 – 15th of September, postponement date will be the 16
th of September
Y5 and Y6 – 22nd of September, postponement date will be the 23rd of September
Time: 9:30am-2:00pm
Venues: Nelson Hockey turfs – Saxton field
Uniform: Teams must wear their school uniform.
Referees: All schools will be required to provide a nominated referee who will officiate
their team’s games. There may be a few umpires we provide, but TBC, so
please be prepared and bring one as well.
Draw: Draw will be emailed to Schools.
Format: Round robin format, Y3 and Y4 will be mixed grade only. Y5 and Y6 teams
have the option to be in a mixed, girls or boys’ grade.
Rules: Games will be played in accordance with Hockey NZ Mini Sticks Advanced
Rules.
Game length: Games will be 10 minutes, with a 5-minute interval between games.
First Aid: All schools MUST bring own First Aid kits.
Equipment: Schools are to provide players with their own sticks and balls, however, NHA
does have a supply of these if needed for players to borrow. Mouthguards
and shin pads are recommended, but not compulsory.
Catering: Café will be open during the tournaments offering food and drink options.
