Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for a very happy 2023 from Nelson Hockey Association

This is a ‘shout out’ to say a very BIG thank you for all your continued support to Nelson Hockey during 2022.

NHA had a very successful 2022 running all programs including a full 16-week club competition, 4 junior programs, 2 social summer hockey programs, 2 youth hockey programs and hosted several tournaments and events including the HNZ National Māori Tournament, HNZ U18 Womens National Tournament, South Island Secondary School Tournament and Tasman Regional Secondary Schools Tournament. We were very privileged to be able to run hockey for our +1200 players and their families.

Next year promises to be a busy one, with all our latest events and programs for next season listed online at www.nelsonhockey.org.nz and Nelson Hockey Facebook page.

We have been appointed to host the HNZ Secondary School Johnson Cup and Audrey Timlin Trophy in August 2023, which will bring together teams from all regions of New Zealand.

Highlights for 2022 – we completed our LED turf Lighting upgrade which had been on the planning for over 5 years, which was an outstanding achievement and came with the assistance of NCC, TDC, Pub Charity and Mainland Foundation.

We also had the Shane McLeod (Belgium Red Lions Olympic gold medal winning coach) host a coaching clinic for our top of the south community.

Our office and the turfs will be closed from 12pm Thursday 22^nd December 2022 and will open again on Monday 16^th January 2023.
