  Hockey New Zealand   AN UPDATE FOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATIONS   This weeks’ Association Newsletter includes resources and advice related to Secondary Schools, the return of Club Hockey as well as updates in the Umpiring and Officials Space.    BALANCE IS BETTER NATIONAL SPORT SEASON GUIDELINES   Sport New Zealand has put together national guidelines as a direct response to the COVID 19 pandemic. Please take the time to look through these guidelines and use them to shape what community hockey will look like in your Association for 2020.      SEASON TRANSITION GUIDELINES   Hockey Community Recognised in Queens Birthday Honour   We have some incredible people in all areas of our hockey community in New Zealand. It was incredible to see some of these people acknowledged in the 2020 Queens Birthday Honours list. With community hockey starting back up this is the perfect time to encourage your community to get engaged and active with the national players.      CLICK HERE TO GO INTO THE DRAW   SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO RUN REGIONALLY IN 2020   Hockey New Zealand is pleased to announce in partnership with the School Sports New Zealand and the New Zealand Sports Collective, that instead of holding National Tournaments in 2020 they will be hosting regional-based tournaments.   Hockey New Zealand has been monitoring the COVID 19 situation carefully and has been working with the School Sports New Zealand, our Associations and many school Principals around what Winter Tournament Week will look like in the hockey space in 2020.   Due to several factors such as domestic travel, tournament administration and the financial impact that the COVID 19 crisis has had on our community. We are going to be getting around the country over the next few months starting in the Upper North Island and profiling the different Associations and capturing the amazing work that goes on in your communities.    Counties Manukau Hockey returned to their newly installed turf one over the weekend to kick off their season with a Hockey Fives festival. The modified version of the game ensures that every player gets plenty of touches on the ball and is the perfect way to get your stick skills sharpened ahead of the exciting 2020 season.      CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL ARTICLE   SKY SPORT NEXT   Sky Sport Next have today put out the first Hockey Home Advantage Video.
