PROJECT UPDATE-SAXTON ROAD CULVERT UPGRADE
STAGE TWO UNDERWAY
Work to install the upstream portion of the culvert has begun this week with Fulton Hogan shifting sides of the road and starting excavations.The upstream section will mirror that of the downstream, with new wingwall , rock armouring and various plantings.
ROCK STOCKPILE AREA
As many may have noticed , a large pile of rocks has been temporarily stockpiled in Circus Green for use on the project.Rock is used to protect ht banks of the stream from erosion, whilst still allowing vegetation to grow between the rocks, providing a more natural look and feel withing the stream environment.Please take care around this area as machinery is loading/unloading trucks.This work will continue for the next fee weeks as the upstream banks of the culvert are armoured against erosion.
TEMPORARY SPEED LIMIT
As time passes, it’s easy to forget that a temporary speed limit is in place. 30 km/h is put in place to protect road users and workers alike.Please obey speed limits to help us ensure everyone gets home safely at the end of the day.
