TASMAN DISTRICT’s WOMEN’S VS SOUTHLAND
Tasman Districts Women’s played Southland today
What a game what a start
It was full noise from Tasman Districts Women they meant business went straight on the attack and within 15 sec had a PC it was defended well by Southland
20 sec later had another and then another and this one they put in thru Pip Lunn
had another 3 PCs and then with 3 mins to go in first quarter Lunn finished off a great team goal
Was quite a defining moment for this squad when they realised that the game plans that coach Paul Jones had asked for worked so they stuck to the game plan for the rest of the game
We created a number of opportunities and had some real close attempts
Goalie Caitlin King had to step up and make some great saves Had one of her best games showed real maturity for such a young player
As the game progressed more pressure came on southland and they didn’t have an answer they had to defend a lot of the time and the tired signs were starting to show
It was a great team effort by Tasman Districts with every layer doing there job and then subs coming on made sure they were an impact player
the final score 2 nil to Tasman
Today sees us play Counties at 11.15 am
cheers
