TASMAN DISTRICTS WOMENS

TASMAN DISTRICTS WOMENS

Had a good start to week
Beat Canterbury 4 2 in an exciting match at National Seniors Tournament in Wellington today at 8.15 am this morning

Tasman and Canterbury started very even for the first 10 mins then we got a well derserved PC and scored from a well worked PC with Kate Morrow putting it in
Canterbury reacted straight away with a bit of sloppy marking and made it 1 all
they took control of the 2nd quarter and went 2 1 up although we created some chances just couldn’t get it in with some good defending by Canterbury
Half time 2 – 1 to Canterbury
We regrouped and refocused after the break with a really good 3 rd quarter were all over them but couldn’t quite get it in until Kim Campion finished off a beaut cross to the left post game on
4 th quarter seen us lift to another level and soon it was 3 2 to us from a well worked drive by Sam Dalziel with Pip Lunn finishing it off
Canterbury had to do something with 5 mins to go took there goalie off this seem to ignite our players and before you knew it was 4 2 Pip Lunn finishing off a well worked team goal Tasman Districts playing some off there best in the last 10
Well deserved win
It was pleasing with 11 new caps in the squad all getting a run and the young ones handling themselves very well
Tomorrow we take on NZ Defence
